My ServierBenefits
Life can be unpredictable, but your income protection benefits provided by Servier offer financial security when you need it most. Whether you’re facing a serious illness, injury, or planning ahead for your family’s future, Servier’s income protection benefits – including disability coverage and life insurance – are here to support you and your family.
Accidents or serious illnesses are unpredictable and your financial obligations such as utility bills, household expenses and other necessities continue even if you are unable to work. That’s why Servier provides disability benefits that give you income protection when you’re unable to work due to a non-work-related illness, injury, or medical condition. These benefits are provided at no cost to employees and enrollment is automatic.
You are eligible to participate in Servier’s disability and income protection benefits if you are a regular employee scheduled to work 20 or more hours/week.
If you’re unable to work due to short-term illness or injury, Short-Term Disability (STD) provides weekly income replacement to help keep your finances on track.
Benefits begin after a 7-calendar waiting period (0-day waiting period for accidents) and are paid for up to 26 weeks of disability. Under this program, Unum will replace 70% of base pay (up to $3,000/week) and Servier will provide additional salary continuation to keep your weekly base pay at 100% when combined with Unum’s payment.
If you remain disabled beyond 26-weeks and have exhausted your Short-Term Disability benefits, you may be eligible to transition to Long-Term Disability (LTD).
Under LTD, Unum will continue to provide income replacement of 60% of your base pay (up to $15,000/month).
Benefits will continue until you are no longer disabled, or until you reach the Social Security Normal Retirement age, whichever comes first.
Please note that there is no additional salary continuation from Servier under the LTD plan.
LTD is employer-paid, but you pay taxes on the premiums, so any benefits you may receive are tax-free.
Disability leave will run concurrently with leave taken under any other applicable state and federal leave laws or Servier policies. Employees who are eligible to collect paid benefits from their state or other program are required to file a claim under the applicable program.
For Massachusetts employees, Servier has opted to offer MA PFML benefits through a private plan administered by Unum. Massachusetts employees will apply for and receive MA PFML benefits through Unum rather than the Commonwealth’s Department of Family and Medical Leave.
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provides financial support to your loved ones if the unexpected happens. Servier’s life and AD&D insurance is offered through Unum and includes basic coverage provided to you at no cost, with the option to elect additional supplemental coverage for yourself and your family.
Servier provides employees with Basic Life and AD&D insurance to ensure your beneficiaries receive financial support in the event of your death or a covered accidental injury or loss. Basic Life and AD&D are provided at no cost and enrollment is automatic.
The life insurance and AD&D benefit is 2x your annual base salary up to $500,000, and is payable to your designated beneficiary upon your death. Eligible Servier employees are automatically enrolled at no cost.
You can choose to add extra protection for yourself and your family with Supplemental Life and AD&D insurance. This optional coverage allows you to increase your benefit coverage level and/or add coverage for your spouse and eligible children.
You can elect supplemental life and AD&D insurance in ADP as a New Hire within 30 days of your hire date or during the annual open enrollment period.
You can file a disability or life insurance claim in 3 ways:
Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is a brief health questionnaire required by the insurance company if you’re applying for certain coverage amounts. If you enroll during your new hire window, only coverage amounts exceeding $230,000 for yourself and $25,000 for your spouse are subject to EOI.
